Learning to live closer to the land
EarthArtEther is a small studio making things for people who want to live closer to the earth: printable nature studies for children, guides for growing food, and hand-shaped copper pieces.
Our printables start from a simple belief: children care for what they know, and they come to know the living world by spending slow, curious time in it. A walk to look for tracks. A jar of seeds on the windowsill. A pumpkin cut open on the kitchen table.
Everything we make is shaped by permaculture, a way of designing gardens and homes that works the way nature does: catching rain, feeding soil, planting in layers, wasting nothing and sharing the surplus. We think those ideas belong in childhood, told through stories and real hands-on projects rather than lectures.
How we make our printables
- True facts. Every science fact is checked against trusted sources such as university extension services, the USDA, the National Park Service, Audubon and the Xerces Society.
- Real projects. Recipes, formulas and experiments use things you already have: leaves, seeds, jars, a kitchen and a backyard or park.
- Room to grow. Easier and harder options on every lesson, so brothers and sisters can learn side by side.
- Safety first. Grown-ups handle ovens, knives and the stove, and wild mushrooms are for looking and drawing only.
